Winter Visitors

January 18, 2024 Elizabeth

Steve has been snow blowing some trails for critters so this place has been busy! Turkeys are coming through every day and roosting for the night in the woods out back. Fox Squirrels are here all throughout the day. We have cardinals, blue jays, titmice, nuthatch, downy, hairy and red-bellied woodpeckers every day. We see mourning doves, juncos, finches, and chickadee all the time. We have the occasional starling coming through still. Here’s some recent pics. Also there is still fruit holding onto the beauty berry shrub! But, birds are now starting to eat it, including the turkeys!

Here’s a view of the flock of turkeys from our patio door.

These squirrels don’t even care when we walk out of our patio door. It’s frigid cold and they like the respite from the wind in this area. Will they run off when we holler SQUIRREL! See for yourself.
