3/23/2021 and 3/24/2021 – I had a lot going on and never put the bird photo booth out in the morning. However, then I was thinking that I could finish this post on the weekend if I got myself in gear. On 3/25 I had most of my other feeders, and all other platform style feeders emptied and was excited to try to draw in a bigger variety of birds to the photo booth. I got it out early and had it out until the evening. My husband saw tons of birds going to it, the platform was emptied and refilled at lunch. Imagine my sadness when I brought my card in and found that it had only taken the first video of me putting it out. The motion detector got turned off and I didn’t even notice! Another lesson learned.

Day 8 – 3/26/2021
- Motion Detection Video
- Exposure +1
- Bottom Lens
- Other feeders were emptied. Not as much available seed, brought in some new guys.
- Turned the angle bracket the other direction to lower the platform.

Day 9 – 3/27/2021
- Motion Detection Video
- Exposure +1
- Bottom Lens
- Basically the same exact setup as Day 8 except that all the other feeders were full. Definitely not as much variety and squirrels ate most of our tray. Also, a couple of Red Winged Blackbird males dominated the feeder time.
- The feeder cam can definitely withstand squirrels climbing on it.

Day 10 – 3/28/2021
- Motion Detection Video
- Exposure +1
- Bottom Lens
- Moved the feeder to an area of the yard with less squirrel traffic and less feeders.
- Added thistle to my feed mix
10 Day Conclusions: I’m really enjoying the feeder. I spent a lot of time during the last year learning about video editing for my church and this gives me a way to keep those skills fresh. I’ll have some tips and tricks I’ve learned out next week probably. My next steps are to continue to experiment. I’m still disappointed I haven’t had a male cardinal visit the platform and only one female. They are here everday on other feeders. I’m going to try to entice them with some safflower. I also want to fiddle around with alternative mounting arrangements that will let me mount the cam right to my big platform where I get the biggest variety all day. I’ve ordered a couple of things for that and if they work, I’ll share links. I’m pleased with my 10 day progress, but I still have some more work to do to get those Magazine quality images I see other places online. Going to continue to work at it though!
I’ve got a lot more ideas to come so please subscribe and get an email when I make a new post here.

Helpful Products for Setting Up Bird Photo Booth
When I purchased the Bird Photo Booth 2.0 in March of 2021, I also purchased the tripod and battery pack from the direct website where the photo booth is sold. It turned out that those were just marked up and shipped directly from Amazon. The tripod listed here is the exact one being sold by Bird Photo Booth. I could not find that exact battery pack any longer on Amazon. I have this Anker one listed and while it is slightly larger, I still fit it into the booth and I can set it up at night and leave it in overnight and throughout the next day without any issues. The Perky Pet Hummer Bar here is the same one as on the bird photo booth site.
You do not have to click these links to purchase, but if you do, please be aware that these are affiliate links and if you make a purchase after clicking through, a small portion of your sale goes to help fund this website. You will be getting a better deal on these accessories than if you buy them at bird photo booth website. The other items are all items we have used in our setup here to attach the camera to our T-Posts protect them from squirrels. You will need a micro SD card to effectively use the Bird Photo Booth.
