Today we caught and released a baby Snapping turtle. Unfortunately, we didn’t measure the diameter of the Turtle, but I would say it was about as big as a silver dollar. We found the turtle at nearly midday simply walking down the cement walkway between the house and the garage. We relocated him to the woods on the side of the garage. Here he will be less conspicuous to potential predators.
Also, we recently caught and released a mysterious blue/black lizard or salamander. It had 5 toes, but we were not able to accurately identify it. Here are some pictures. Let us know if you recognize it!
I know that these aren’t the best photos. Steve and I are going to invest in a better camera so that we can improve the pictures available for this site!
