A Day at the Bird Feeder

A Day at the Bird Feeder

May 5, 2024 Elizabeth

Sometimes here in the spring, I get taken in by all of the bright flashy migratory birds that come through. I dream of seeing an indigo bunting. I love seeing the rose breasted grosbeaks, orioles, and hummingbirds return. I love seeing the finches put on their summer breeding colors. Sometimes, I overlook our normal every day birds. The woodpeckers, nuthatches, titmice, and chickadees that stick around with us through the bitter cold days and the summer sun days and everyday in between. So, I put the feeder cam onto our flythrough feeder where I put a seed mix for about 2 hours. Then, condensed all of the video clips that contained birds into this approximately 12 minute compilation. I also thought this was a good opportunity to share some bird identification with folks so I added a voice-over identifying each bird as it arrives.

Check it out below!

A friend shared this blue jay comic with me a few weeks back. It seems pretty fitting with this video! Blue Jays cannot resist peanuts!
