We have not seen any bees at the bee house we setup for solitary bees – however – there are definite signs of activity! Some of the tubes have been filled up. It’s pretty exciting for me. I didn’t really think that we would have bees using it this quickly. I didn’t even know how many solitary bees we really had in this area. It’s pretty cool so now we want to go every day and count how many tubes have been used. Maybe I can catch some activity on the bee house with a camera. We haven’t tried yet.
This salvia has been attracking a lot of pollinators to the area. I didn’t realize how large it would get – but it’s been a great addition.
And we also captured this pretty cool video of a grey catbird taking a bath! We used to see a catbird once in a great while but this year we have a pair of them living nearby and coming every day. It’s been interesting to watch them a little closer.
