Spring is in the air

Spring is in the air

April 17, 2021 Elizabeth

Even though it looks like snow is coming next week, it still feels like spring is in the air! Our swamp lily is blooming, always a sure sign of spring around here. We are surprised by how dry it is! Compare this photo of the swamp lily from 2017 to the one this year in 2021. They are in the same exact spot in the yard, but you can see it’s much drier this year. While we were on a walkabout today, we also encountered this little fellow.

He was tucked into some machinery we have, sunning himself on our hill. it was good to see him out and about, he was small but feisty!

We spotted a few other spring blossoms, these little purple flowers that grow near the pine trees every year. Duke was checking them out, too. And another shot of our favorite sign of spring, the swamp lily.
