Bird Photo Booth Day Two – Improving

Bird Photo Booth Day Two – Improving

Angle Bracket a different direction than Day One

Well, last night we were looking at our pictures and I was looking at other’s pictures on the Facebook user group. My feeder bowl seemed much lower than theirs. That’s when I realized that I could turn the angle bracket the other direction to bring the feeder bowl into better alignment with the camera. Eureka! As I said, directions are poor on this thing and apparently I just didn’t think through the angle bracket. Here’s the “right” direction if you are using the top macro lens for your photos.

My work from home office faces our front yard and the road. The backyard is more protected from wind though so I’ve opted so far to put the photo booth out back. It’s pretty fun to get out of work and see what happened on the other side of the house all day!

Titmouse

We got some great pics today! There was enough sun outside, that I think with the exposure set at +3 that some are actually a little over-exposed like this titmouse that looks a little washed out.

Here’s the various things that chickadees ate today! Peanuts and sunflower seeds. The peanuts look bigger than their beaks!

We also got some really funny looks at the camera today!

  • Titmouse
  • Chickadee

AND – a few visitors we didn’t see yesterday! Red Bellied Woodpecker, a trio of Starlings and a Red Winged Blackbird

We also had Nuthatches and the downy woodpecker showing us his ladder back today!

We had so many good pictures, I made a 3 minute video out of all of the photos that had a bird in them set to a funky beat. Watch it below and see 9 hours of bird feeder action in 3 minutes!

Helpful Products for Setting Up Bird Photo Booth

When I purchased the Bird Photo Booth 2.0 in March of 2021, I also purchased the tripod and battery pack from the direct website where the photo booth is sold. It turned out that those were just marked up and shipped directly from Amazon. The tripod listed here is the exact one being sold by Bird Photo Booth. I could not find that exact battery pack any longer on Amazon. I have this Anker one listed and while it is slightly larger, I still fit it into the booth and I can set it up at night and leave it in overnight and throughout the next day without any issues. The Perky Pet Hummer Bar here is the same one as on the bird photo booth site.

You do not have to click these links to purchase, but if you do, please be aware that these are affiliate links and if you make a purchase after clicking through, a small portion of your sale goes to help fund this website. You will be getting a better deal on these accessories than if you buy them at bird photo booth website. The other items are all items we have used in our setup here to attach the camera to our T-Posts protect them from squirrels. You will need a micro SD card to effectively use the Bird Photo Booth.

I know some people don’t like starlings, but I don’t mind them sometimes. They sure are interesting to look at!
