Irises & Allium – Birds and More!

Irises & Allium – Birds and More!

May 31, 2023 Elizabeth

While the tulips didn’t work out as planned and the daffodils and hyacinth have faded, the new circle bed is still producing food for pollinators and some beauty in the yard. Our irises have started to bloom. We see at least 3 varieties. The white ones that came from my church. Then, there’s a black one and also one that is sort of maroon. I’m hoping for more colors to bloom as well!

And the Alliums have bloomed, too! I wish that I had planted more of these! I only planted 2 bulbs.

Overall, this circle bed is looking pretty nice! We added the solitary bee home and the butterfly house. We’ve also planted some annuals here from seed including some morning glory to climb the pole. Hopefully as the summer begins those annuals will begin to bloom so we can have some color here all season.

Bird watching has been pretty good as of late too. All of our migrators are back & preparing their nests.
