Robin First Flight – No Video?

Robin First Flight – No Video?

May 28, 2023 Elizabeth

So despite multiple cameras, I have no video evidence of the first flight of the first baby Robin to leave the nest. Technology let me down! However, in a stroke of luck, Steve managed to see it live because he was outside & showing a friend the nest. We are waiting to see him out in the yard but he flew out to the bushes in the swamp & we haven’t seen him since. 2 videos here. First is the moments before first flight & very anticlimactic. 2nd video is the 2 little ones left.

Overall, it was a disappointing nature video day but an awesome nature watching day. This morning, I was watering the hanging baskets & filling the bird bath before church. I saw a hummingbird take a bath/shower in the water that was draining from the basket & had formed a tiny puddle on the grounds below. It was the coolest thing but no camera.

Update! And then there was one & still no first flight video.

Blizzard Day!

Quarantined with Duke

A photographic image of a dianthus plant which is a small flowering platn with pink and white roundish flowers. On the plant, is a large butterfly mostly black with white dots on the outer wing perimeter and a blue sheen on the tail end with severe swallow tail with one half of the swallowtail missing. The wings are slightly lifted.
