Here’s a video compilation we captured of the Red Bellied woodpecker, one of my favorite birds! We caught this adult female coming to our feeder repeatedly throughout the day on 3/26/2021. All of her preferred feeders, suet feeders, were empty and she spent some time eating the peanuts and black oilers from this platform feeder. We created this compilation video using Cyberlink PowerDirector. We took all of the 30 second clips from the feeder cam that contained the Red Bellied Woodpecker and then cut out all of the “dead” spots where there was no bird action. We left some other species in, particularly when the female Red Bellied Woodpecker boots them off the feeder. We only briefly saw another, most likely her male mate on the apple tree nearby.
